DAY 1 - Xiamen (Arrival)

Upon arrival in Xiamen, you will be picked up at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, and today’s itinerary begins as follows:

  • Shapowei Art District One of Xiamen’s most artistic neighborhoods, transformed from an old fishing port. It hosts numerous cafés, creative shops, and art spaces, offering a unique atmosphere that blends the harbor with cultural and creative elements.
  • Nanputuo Temple Located at the foot of Wulao Peak in Xiamen city, this is a famous Buddhist temple in the Minnan region. With a long history and a serene environment, it is a major site for visitors to learn about Buddhist culture.
  • Xiamen University (Exterior View) – Known as “one of the most beautiful universities in China,” the campus sits by the sea and hillside, featuring a blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles. Red-tiled roofs, green trees, and sea views make it very distinctive. Visitors usually take photos at the campus entrance.
  • Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park Located along Xiamen’s Huandao Road, this coastal wetland park integrates ecological protection, leisure, and sightseeing. It is home to diverse aquatic plants and bird species, making it ideal for walking, cycling, and connecting with nature.
  • “One Country, Two Systems” Beach with a View of Kinmen Situated along Xiamen’s coast, this beach faces Kinmen Island, offering panoramic views of the island. With a peaceful environment and gentle sea breeze, it is perfect for photography, walking, and enjoying the sea view.

DAY 2 - Xiamen - Quanzhou (1.5H) - Xiamen

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Xiamen. Today’s itinerary is as follows:

  • Gulangyu Island (Excluded electric shuttle service) – Known as the “Garden on the Sea”, Gulangyu is famous for its unique European-style architecture and romantic island atmosphere. With no motor vehicles allowed, visitors can enjoy a peaceful and leisurely walk around the island.
  • Exhibition of International Architecture Gulangyu showcases architectural styles from various countries such as Britain, France, Japan, and Germany, earning it the title “Exhibition of International Architecture.” These buildings reflect the unique charm of East–West cultural fusion.
  • The Most Beautiful Corner A popular photo spot on Gulangyu where blue skies, red rooftops, and the coastline blend harmoniously. It is a must-visit location for travelers and photography enthusiasts.

In the afternoon, proceed to Quanzhou, continue visit following attractions:

  • West Street, Quanzhou One of the oldest streets in Quanzhou, it preserves many ancient buildings and traditional shops from the Song and Yuan dynasties, offering a rich historical and cultural atmosphere.
  • Clock Tower One of Quanzhou’s most iconic city landmarks. Built in 1934, the tower combines traditional Minnan and Western architectural styles, with clocks on all four sides. It is surrounded by the lively Zhongshan Road arcade district, making it a popular spot for photography and experiencing the charm of old Quanzhou.
  • Kaiyuan Temple Built during the Tang Dynasty, it is one of the largest and most famous Buddhist temples in Fujian Province. The temple is known for its grand twin pagodas, exquisite stone carvings, and tranquil, sacred ambiance.
  • Xunpu Fishing Village – Traditional Flower Hairpin Experience (Special arrangement for Flower Costume Experience, excluded Headpiece) – Xunpu Fishing Village is a renowned traditional fishing village in Quanzhou. Local women still preserve the unique intangible cultural heritage custom of the “flower hairpin wrap,” adorning headpieces with fresh or artificial flowers in vibrant colors, showcasing distinct Minnan characteristics. Visitors can try on the flower costumes for photos and experience the village’s unique maritime culture and folk traditions.

DAY 3 - Xiamen - Yongding (2H) - Meizhou (2H)

After breakfast, today’s itinerary is as follows::

visit the Yongding Tulou King Scenic Area:

  • Chengqi Building Known as the “King of Tulou”, this is one of Fujian’s most representative circular earthen buildings. Built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it has four stories and hundreds of rooms, featuring a magnificent structure that remains well preserved.
  • Shize Building Constructed during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, this is a typical square Tulou symbolizing family prosperity and generational continuity. The building is adorned with intricate carvings and follows a well-organized layout.
  • Qiaofu Building Built by overseas Chinese, this Tulou combines traditional Hakka design with Western architectural elements, embodying the Hakka spirit of diligence, success, and giving back to one’s homeland.

Then proceed to Meizhou, visit the following attractions:

  • China Hakka Museum Showcasing the origins, migration, architecture, customs, and cultural heritage of the Hakka people, this museum is an essential destination for understanding Hakka history and spirit.
  • Thousand Buddha Pagoda Located in downtown Meizhou, this famous Buddhist landmark features a majestic structure housing numerous Buddha statues, symbolizing peace, wisdom, and blessing.
  • Songkou Ancient Town + Youluo Street Shopping & Dinner Songkou Ancient Town, in Meizhou, is a historic Hakka town that once served as an important trading port. DAY 4 - Meizhou - Chaozhou (3H)

After breakfast, proceed to Chaozhou.

After that, visit the following attraction:

  • Guangji Bridge Built during the Song Dynasty, it is one of China’s earliest movable pontoon bridges, often called “the world’s earliest beam-type movable bridge.” The bridge features pavilions arranged along its span, with rippling water beneath, making it one of Chaozhou’s most iconic landmarks.
  • Chaozhou Ancient City (Including Electric Cart Tour) – The ancient city preserves many streets and residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties, full of historical charm. Riding an electric cart allows visitors to leisurely explore the city, admiring archways, old alleys, and traditional handicrafts.
  • Xiangzi Bridge (Exterior View) – Located over the Han River in Chaozhou and also known as Guangji Bridge, it is one of China’s four major ancient bridges. Its unique design combines beam, pontoon, and arch structures. Visitors can admire the bridge’s historic architecture from the outside and take photos.
  • Paifang Street Chaozhou’s liveliest pedestrian street, lined with dozens of ancient archways and traditional shops. Visitors can view embroidery, wood carving, and other local crafts, immersing themselves in rich Chaoshan culture.
  • Enjoy tea and traditional performances such as Ying Laoye Ceremony, Lion Dance, Yingge Dance, and Chaozhou Opera

DAY 5 - Chaozhou - Nan'ao Island - Shantou (1H)

After breakfast, proceed to Nan'ao Island, today’s itinerary is as follows:

  • Nan’ao Bridge Approximately 11 km long, it connects Shantou city with Nan’ao Island and is China’s first bridge combining sea-crossing, strait passage, and deep-water navigation. Driving across offers sweeping views of blue skies and the vast sea.
  • Famous Lighthouse A white lighthouse by the sea, renowned for its romantic coastal views and excellent photo opportunities, especially captivating at sunset.
  • Sea Fishing at Fish Rafts Enjoy a traditional sea fishing experience on floating fish rafts, offering a hands-on taste of local maritime life.
  • Gate of Nature (Photo Spot) – A massive arch-shaped sea-eroded rock formation, hailed as a “Nan’ao landmark.” The combination of turquoise waters and blue sky makes it a must-visit photo destination.

  • Former Residence of Chen Cihuang, Chenghai Built in the late Qing Dynasty, this was the home of the renowned overseas Chinese businessman Chen Cihuang. The architecture blends Chinese and Western styles, featuring exquisite wood carvings, gray plaster reliefs, and stone carvings, showcasing traditional Chaoshan craftsmanship and overseas Chinese cultural heritage.

Afternoon transfer to Xiamen, then proceed to visit following attraction:

  • Jimei School Village Founded by the famous overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee, this campus complex integrates education, culture, and architectural art. The buildings combine Minnan style with Southeast Asian features, including red bricks, white walls, and swallowtail roof ridges. It is a distinctive cultural attraction and one of Xiamen’s notable landmarks.
  • Zhongshan Road Shopping One of Xiamen’s busiest commercial streets, lined with historic arcade buildings and modern shops. Visitors can shop during the day and enjoy the lively, brightly lit atmosphere at night, making it a must-visit spot to experience Xiamen’s local charm.
