ITINERARY / SCHEDULE
DAY 1 - Yangon (Arrival)
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport (Mingaladon Airport) you will be greeted by your guide and driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, visit Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred Buddhist monument and an iconic symbol of the country. Standing nearly 100 meters tall and covered with gold plates, the pagoda is believed to enshrine relics of four Buddhas. Admire its glittering stupa, intricate shrines, and the spiritual atmosphere as local devotees gather for prayer and worship. Continue to Kandawgyi Park, a scenic lakeside park located in the heart of Yangon. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the boardwalk overlooking Kandawgyi Lake, where you can take in beautiful views of the Shwedagon Pagoda reflected in the water. The park offers a peaceful escape from the city's bustle and is an ideal spot for photography and relaxation. Transfer back to Wyndham Grand Hotel and leisure your time. DAY 2 - Yangon - Thanlyin - Yangon
After breakfast, meet your guide and depart for Thanlyin (Syriam), a historic town located across the Yangon River. Once an important trading port, Thanlyin played a significant role in Myanmar’s history and bears the influence of Portuguese settlers, British colonial administration, and the country’s early oil industry. Your first stop is the Ancient Portuguese Church, one of the oldest Christian landmarks in Myanmar and a reminder of the Portuguese presence in the region during the 16th century. Continue with a stroll through the former BOC (Burma Oil Company) Compound, where charming colonial-era residences and tree-lined streets offer a glimpse into the town’s prosperous past during the British colonial period. Next, visit the Energy Museum, which showcases the development of Myanmar’s oil and energy industry through historical photographs, documents, machinery, and interactive exhibits. Along the way, pass by the historic BOC Club and its tranquil lakeside surroundings, once a popular recreational venue for company staff and expatriates. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor authentic Burmese cuisine and regional specialties. In the afternoon, proceed to the iconic Yele Kyauk Tan Pagoda (Midstream Pagoda). Situated on a small island in the middle of the river, the pagoda is reached by a short boat ride and offers a unique and picturesque setting. Revered by local pilgrims, the pagoda is known for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful river views, and intricate Buddhist architecture. DAY 3 - Yangon Full-day Tour
After breakfast, meet your guide and begin a fascinating exploration of Yangon’s rich cultural heritage and diverse communities. Start your day in Yangon’s Chinatown, one of the city's liveliest districts, where bustling streets are lined with traditional shops, markets, and eateries. Visit the revered Guanyin Gumiao Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, where locals and visitors alike come to offer prayers and make wishes for good fortune, health, and prosperity. Continue through Theingyi Market, one of Yangon’s oldest and most vibrant local markets, where vendors sell everything from fresh produce and spices to household goods and traditional snacks. As you wander through the market, you will emerge into the colorful Indian Quarter, a neighborhood rich in history, culture, and architectural heritage. Here, visit the magnificent Mogul Shiah Jaamay Mosque, one of Yangon’s most beautiful historic mosques, showcasing impressive Indo-Islamic architecture and reflecting the city's multicultural character and try the best lassi in town or local teashop experience. Next, explore the historic heart of British Rangoon, passing through Mahabandula Park, Bank Street, and Pansodan Road, where grand colonial buildings stand as reminders of Yangon’s importance during the British colonial period. Continue to Bogalay Street, renowned for its beautifully preserved heritage architecture and nostalgic atmosphere. After lunch, proceed to one of Yangon’s most significant historical landmarks, The Secretariat. This grand colonial-era building served as the administrative center of British Burma and later became the site of one of the country's most pivotal events. In July 1947, Myanmar's independence hero, General Aung San, along with six cabinet members, was assassinated here during a cabinet meeting, just months before the country gained independence. Today, the restored complex offers valuable insights into Myanmar’s political and historical journey. Afterward, visit the famous Bogyoke Aung San Market (Scott Market) for shopping souvenirs. Continue to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, home to one of Myanmar’s largest reclining Buddha images, measuring approximately 66 meters in length. Admire the Buddha’s intricately decorated feet and serene facial features. Nearby, visit Nga Htat Gyi Pagoda, which houses an impressive seated Buddha image standing over 14 meters high, renowned for its detailed craftsmanship and majestic appearance. The tour will end in West Yangon - Kyeemyindaing Night Market. Enjoy farewell dinner and the transfer to Hotel.
