Pangkor Island is located off the coast of Perak in between Penang and Kuala Lumpur. As an island on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Pangkor Island is pretty much shielded by the monsoon impact. And because of ideal Pangkor Island weather that is neither too warm or too cold, this makes it one of the popular places to visit in Malaysia all year round.
You can drive or catch a bus from Kuala Lumpur to the ferry port at Lumut. The ferry from Lumut to Pangkor take 35 minutes and operates 7am to 8.30pm daily (schedule subject to change). For those who wish to drive their own cars, Coral Bay Resort Pangkor has a car park available for guests. Hotel standard check in time after 1530PM.
Free at own leisure in the island. Once on the island, the best mode of transport is by scooter. Renting a scooter is relatively cheap, and will allow to you to cover most within 15 to 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can hail one of the island’s famed pink taxis. Suggestion attraction: Pasir Bogak Beach, Dutch Fort, Fu Lin Kong Temple, Sacred Written Rock, Masjid Al Badr and etc.
