Star Island Welcomes 2020 In Singapore

Japanese fireworks musical show, STAR ISLAND SINGAPORE COUNTDOWN EDITION 2019 - 2020 ushered in the new decade with its final spectacular bursts of STAR ISLAND specialty fireworks at the stroke of midnight, painting the Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay city skyline with a rhapsody of vibrant colours. As part of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2020, STAR ISLAND thrilled the crowds this New Year’s Eve, action-packed with a variety of highlights to provide a one-of-a-kind, world-class location entertainment experience for visitors young and old in the heart of Singapore’s city-centre.

Centered around a new story, 2019: A SPACE ODYSSEY, STAR ISLAND transformed The Float @ Marina Bay into an imaginary galactical universe with a 90-minute-long fireworks multi-sensory musical extravaganza, which witnessed a beautiful symphony of Japanese-designed hanabi fireworks specially brought from Japan, 3D surround sound, dazzling lights and world-class performances.

As part of the show, 500 drones also made the sky their canvas in Singapore’s largest drone show performance. Audiences watched with bated breath as drones moved in step to create intricate formations, some of which showcased unique Singapore icons against Singapore’s city skyline. 

Before the main show, STAR ISLAND welcomed visitors with a variety of pre-show activities specially curated for everyone in the family. Revellers were greeted by live DJ performances by renowned local and international DJs, a family-friendly entertainment zone and delectable delights from a plethora of different cuisines at Star Village.
